Herbert Kaiser
Herbert L. Kaiser, age 91, of Coldwater, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Heritage Manor in Minster. He was born January 14, 1930 in Sharpsburg, to the late Henry & Emma (Huber) Kaiser. On October 19, 1957 in St. Peter (Fort Recovery), Ohio, he married Rosemary Grieshop and she survives in Coldwater.
He is survived by children, Linda (Don) Kahlig of Ft. Recovery, Randy (Sandy) Kaiser of Coldwater, Jim (Karen) Kaiser of Centerville, Ron (Deb) Kaiser, Mike (Carol) Kaiser and Tony (Heather) Kaiser all of Coldwater; 26 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; a sister Marcella Hemmelgarn of Coldwater; and in-laws, Eileen Schmitz of Coldwater, Jeanette Grieshop, Louis (Charlene) Grieshop all of Ft. Recovery and Herbert (Janice) Grieshop of Celina.
He was also preceded in death by a son Gerard; siblings and in-laws Stella (Lawrence) Broering, Leo (Alma) Kaiser, Luetta (John) Reichert, Edward (Dorotha) Kaiser, Bernard (Mary) Kaiser, Richard Hemmelgarn, Joseph (Adella Mae) Kaiser, Richard Kaiser, Rosella 'Toots' (Walt Hierholzer & Wally Moorman), Jerry (Norma) Grieshop, Martha (Cletus) Dues, Dennis (Doris) Grieshop, Catherine Grieshop, Maurice Grieshop, Ruth (Fred) Wilker, Laura (Ralph) Langenkamp, and John (Dorothy) Grieshop.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Coldwater Knights of Columbus, Coldwater Eagles and a past member of the Burkettsville Fire Dept. Herb served in the US Air Force during the Korean war and was past commander of the Ft. Recovery American Legion. He first worked as a milk hauler and was a longtime Insurance Salesman. Herb was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed doing anything with his family, especially fishing and playing cards. He also played golf and softball and was a longtime bowler.
A Funeral Mass following all CDC guidelines will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater with live stream at https://www.coldwatercluster.org/information/watch-mass-online. Friends may call from 1 to 5 pm on Sunday and 9 to 10 am Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater where CDC guidelines of mask wearing, and social distancing will be followed. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com
