Mary Jane Buening
Mary Jane Leona Buening, age 60, of Burkettsville, died on Friday, December 11, 2020 at her residence in rural Burkettsville, surrounded by her family.
She was born September 7th, 1960 in Coldwater to Waveline (Keller) Selhorst and the late Herbert Selhorst. Her mother survives in Coldwater. On February 7, 1981 in St. Henry Church she married Daniel Buening, and he survives in Burkettsville.
Mary Jane is also survived by two children, Jamie & Toby Daugherty of Ft. Recovery, and Brad & Andrea Buening of Coldwater. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Briggs, Bentley, and Zeppelin, and siblings and in-laws: Jim & Denise Selhorst of Celina, Diane & Jeff Moots of Van Wert, Judy & Levarn Koesters of Coldwater, Terry & Kathy Selhorst of Coldwater, Scott & Beth Selhorst of Dayton, Jeff & Janel Selhorst of Coldwater, her mother-in-law Betty Lou Buening of St. Henry, and in-laws Gary & Juanita Buening of Maria Stein, and Joanie & Nick Muhlenkamp of Coldwater.
In addition to her father, Mary Jane is preceded in death by her father-in-law Lester Buening.
She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Burkettsville. Mary Jane was an entrepreneur at heart and loved vegetable and flower gardening. Her siblings say she always made the best desserts at the holidays. She enjoyed spending time with her family and absolutely lived for her grandchildren.
The family would like to receive friends but due to COVID-19 concerns viewing and the funeral Mass for Mary Jane will be private. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry are handling arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County or State of the Heart Care.
