Conrad Phlipot
Conrad F. Phlipot age 86 of Russia, Ohio died Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
He was born July 29, 1934 in Russia, Ohio to the late John & Margaret (Didier) Phlipot. He married Mary Balster on October 24, 1970 in Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater, Ohio. She survives in Russia.
He is also survived by children: Thomas & Brandi Phlipot, Russia, Todd & Kathy Phlipot, Versailles, Karen & Paul Francis, Sidney, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, brother: Marion & Angela Phlipot, Fort Loramie, sister-in-law, Juliana Phlipot, Versailles, in-laws: Clara Walter, Delphos, Larry & Pat Balster, St. Henry, Jim Moeller, Carthagena, Marilyn Balster, Kettering, Alice Balster, Coldwater.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Elizabeth Grace Francis, brothers: Victor & Mary Phlipot, Harold Phlipot, Nicholas Phlipot, sisters: Henrietta & Joe Baltes, Erna & Paul Voisard, Kathleen & Carl Wehrman, Maxine & Jim Monnin, Gertrude & Paul Schulze, in laws: Walter Balster, Richard Balster, John Walter, Esther Moeller.
He was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany from 1956-1958 and a member of the Catholic War Veterans, Russia.
He worked for Phlipot Brothers Masonry also M.R. Masonry until Ferguson Construction purchased the business and he retired from Ferguson Construction. He volunteered in many different organizations such as the Hospice Spaghetti Dinner, the CWV and the Russia Fire Department. He also rented apartments for many years and was a former co-owner of the Russia Inn.
He enjoyed woodworking with his grandchildren, giving train rides and working in his gardens and flowerbeds.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, December 14, 2020 at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Remy Cemetery, Russia.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia from 1 to 4 PM on Sunday, December 13, 2020 and from 9 to 10 AM on Monday. Visitors are asked to follow CDC guidelines with masks and social distancing.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Russia Fire Department.
