Auglaize County 5-year, 1-mill levy
Multiple levy issues on November ballots

An operating levy benefiting the Auglaize County Council on Aging is on the ballot for renewal this election, and officials say it's necessary to keep basic services funded.
The five-year, 1-mill levy has been on the books since 1990 and has come up for renewal once again, according to council director Robert Warren. The levy would continue to cost the owner of a $100,000 home about $23.22 annually.
Warren said the levy funds a majority of the organization's operations and services, including transportation services and homemaker outreach, which provides assistance with light housekeeping.
The ACCoA was founded in 1976, Warren said. The organization is dedicated to providing services that assist the ever-growing elderly population in the county.
Without the levy renewal, the organization would likely be forced to close its doors, he added.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, some services have been changed to continue meeting the needs of seniors safely, Warren said.
The agency has continued to help where possible, including delivering lunches and food donations to homes.
Warren said the organization was grateful for the community's continued support through the years.
