Barbara Muhlenkamp
Barbara M. "Barb" Muhlenkamp, age 73, of Portland, Indiana, died September 22, 2020 at IU Health University Hospital, Indianapolis, IN.
She was born May 2, 1947, in Portland, to the late Herman and Theresia (Beumer) Lamm. On October 14, 1967, she married Edward Muhlenkamp, who survives.
Also surviving are her children, Amanda (Mark) Thurber of Fort Wayne, IN, Eric (Shannon) Muhlenkamp of Lexington, KY, Todd (Kristina) Muhlenkamp of Portland, Beth (Kevin) Hemmelgarn of Fort Recovery; 11 grandchildren; siblings, Ken (Janice) Lamm of Fort Recovery, Paul Lamm of St. Marys, Joan (Harry) McPheron of St. Marys, and Tom (Joan) Lamm of Fort Recovery; and in-laws, John (Carol) Muhlenkamp of Dayton, Carol (Jesse) Parete of Dayton, Marlene (Tom) Henry of Hudson, IN, Joyce (Jim) Hemmelgarn of Russia, Herb (Deb) Muhlenkamp of Celina, Clete (Polly) Muhlenkamap of St. Marys, Theresa Branson of Celina, Connie (John) Boeke of Coldwater, Dan (Susie) Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Marge (Chris) Goettemoeller of St. Henry, Gary (Angie) Muhlenkamp of Montezuma, and Peg (Ron) Carpenter of Celina.
Preceding her in death are her sister, Anna Mitchell and in-law Kenneth Muhlenkamp.
Barb was a 1965 graduate of Fort Recovery High School and the Dayton School of Practical Nursing. She was employed as a nurse at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater and later for Family Practice in Jay County, IN.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Portland. Barb enjoyed genealogy and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, with her nephew, Fr. Robert Muhlenkamp as celebrant. The Mass will be live streamed at www.fortrecoverycatholics.org/streamspot/. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, St. Joe.
Calling is 4:00 pm-8:00 pm Friday and 9:00 am-9:30 am Saturday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. Social distancing will be observed during the visitation and CDC guidelines will be followed.
