Lucy Beckstedt
Lucy Victoria Beckstedt, age 84, of Celina, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Briarwood Village Nursing Home, in Coldwater.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1935 in St. Anthony, Ohio to the late Alfons & Alvina (Krieg) Muhlenkamp. On April 27, 1957, she married Donald Lee Beckstedt, who died September 5, 2019.
Lucy is survived by her children Anthony Beckstedt of Celina, Terrence Beckstedt of Columbus, Victoria (Mike) Bruns of Rockford, Thomas (Cathy) Beckstedt of Ashville, Mike Beckstedt of Celina, five grandchildren Erica (Brian) Vorst, Brian (Leah) Bruns, Nicholas Bruns, Misty Bates, Tony (Brittney) Beckstedt and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers & sisters-in-law: Dale Muhlenkamp of Tustin, California, Roger (Donna) Muhlenkamp of Flagstaff, Arizona, Ron (Carol) Muhlenkamp, Sue Muhlenkamp and Joan Muhlenkamp all of Coldwater and sisters & brother-in-law Lori Froning of St. Henry and Carol (Dale) Laux of St. Marys.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two infant daughters Theresa Beckstedt and Jane Beckstedt, brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob (Sally) Muhlenkamp, Dick Muhlenkamp, Mark Muhlenkamp, Gale Muhlenkamp; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jean (Ivo) Bruns, Dottie (Lavern) Brockman, and Charlie Froning.
She graduated from Coldwater High School and was a Fiscal Officer for Mercer County Job and Family Services for 29 years. She enjoyed her gardening, reading a good book, watching NASCAR races or watching a good episode of "I Love Lucy". Lucy was a selfless woman, who always put other people first, especially her family.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and active with the Altar Sodality at the Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Tim McFarland C.PP.S. officiating. Friends are invited to view the Mass of Christian Burial live on the Immaculate Conception website, celina-ic.org. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2020 and from 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. Attendees are required to wear a mask, respect the safety of the family, during services, observe social distancing and refrain from close physical contact. Please follow the guidelines dictated by the Ohio Department of Health, due to the National Health Concerns of COVID-19.
