Illness knocks Knapke's team out of TBT

Marion Local graduate Luke Knapke's team, Mid-American Unity, became the third team removed from The Basketball Tournament after a positive test for COVID-19.

The news came on July 2, two days before the team was set to take on Team CP3 in the opening round. PrimeTime Players filled Mid-American's spot in the game. Team CP3 defeated the PrimeTimePlayers 76-74.

One area player still remains in the $1 million winner-take-all tournament in Ryan Mikesell, who will suit up for the Red Scare in Wednesday's contest with Big X, which defeated D2 79-74 in Saturday's opening contest. Red Scare meets Big X at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The game can be viewed on ESPN.

County reports 5 new cases
