Dora Kable
Dora "Velone" V. (Houts) Kable, age 92, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 5:07 pm in Mercer Health Hospital in Coldwater.
She was born January 7, 1928 in Celina to the late Fay & Esta (Now) Houts. In June of 1950, she married Donald Kable who preceded her in death in January of 2018.
Velone is survived by her loving children, Teresa (Don) Hawk of Terrace Park, Ohio and Jeff (Carol) Kable of Galion, Ohio. Velone adored her two grandchildren, Tara Hawk (Justin Ratner) and Dillon "Ross" Hawk and her two great grandchildren, Ada Ratner and Carl Ratner. Velone is also survived by her brother, Eldon Houts of Celina and a sister-in-law, Wilma Houts of Celina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Lucille Hamilton, Ruth Raudabaugh, John Houts, Dale Houts and Calvin Houts.
Velone was a 1946 graduate of Neptune High School. She co-owned Kellermeyers Clothing Store in St. Marys with her husband. She was a store owner, piano teacher, and an organist for her church. Velone was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Celina.
Velone had a deep love for her family, the most precious time for Velone was time spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, music and cooking.
Visitation hours will take place from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Cisco Funeral Homes in Celina, masks are recommended.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 10:30 am in St. John Lutheran Church in Celina with Rev. Jeff Gramza officiating.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 am-10:30 am before the service at the church. Masks are recommended for visitors entering the church for the visitation and the funeral service. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
Due to restrictions of the COVID-19 virus we will be following the guidelines set by the Ohio Governor Mike DeWine's office.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. John Lutheran Church and/or Mercer County Council on Aging.
