James "Jim" R. Walter
James "Jim" R. Walter, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 5:50 am, surround by his family at his home.
He was born June 29, 1946 to the late Russell & Rita (Delzeith) Walter in Mercer County. On September 21, 1970, Jim married Mary Lou (Shinn) Walter who survives at their residence in Celina.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Walter of Celina; daughter, Angela Sneddon (Chuck Stammen) of Celina; granddaughter, Haley (Karl) Stadtmiller of Auburn, Indiana; and siblings, Karen (Jack) Hart of Celina, Jack (Cheryl) Walter of Coldwater, and Terry (Carol) Walter of Celina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step child, Mark Brown and brother, Jerry Walter.
Jim was a 1964 graduate of Celina High School. He worked for Huffy Bicycle for 30 plus years.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, VFW Post 5713 in Celina, and American Legion Post 210 in Celina.
Jim loved spending time mowing his lawn spending time in his barn, collecting coins, taking his loved dog for a ride and hanging out with family and friends at the VFW. Most important to Jim was his family, he will be deeply missed by all.
Visitation hours will take place from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in Cisco Funeral Homes in Celina.
Funeral Liturgy will be held on June 9, 2020 at 12:00 pm in Cisco Funeral Homes in Celina with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S., officiating.
Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
Due to restrictions of the Covid-19 virus, we will be following the guidelines set by the Ohio Governor Mike DeWine's office; limiting attendance to the visitation and the funeral services.
