Area stores provide special services

The following grocery stores are offering various special services amid the novel coronavirus pandemic:
• Friendly Market, 725 W. Logan St., Celina, is designating 11 a.m.-noon each day for people 50 or older and those considered at-risk to shop, according to a store employee. The store is also offering delivery every day for an additional $5.
• Chief Supermarket, 810 E. Main St., Coldwater, is designating 6-8 a.m. each day for vulnerable people and senior citizens to shop, according to a store employee. It's also offering curbside pickup of groceries by calling 419-678-2056, the employee said.
• Chief Supermarket, 221 Summit St., Celina, is designating the hours of 6-8 a.m. each day for vulnerable people and senior citizens to shop, according to a store employee.
• Aldi, 2001 Havemann Road, Celina, is designating 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for vulnerable shoppers, according to the Aldi website.
• Walmart, 1950 Havemann Road, Celina, is offering curbside pickup services. The grocery app can be downloaded at walmart.com/cp/walmart-mobile-app/1087865. It's also designating 6-7 a.m. Tuesdays for people ages 60 and older or in vulnerable conditions to shop, according to a store employee.
• Kroger, 475 Fortman Drive, St. Marys, is offering curbside pickup. The service can be accessed at kroger.com/i/ways-to-shop/pickup. It's also designating 7-8 a.m. Monday-Thursday for people ages 60 and older and high-risk customers to shop, according to a store employee.
• Gel's IGA, 451 Stachler Drive, St. Henry, is designating 8-10 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for people ages 50 and older and those with immune deficiencies, according to a store employee. It's also offering curbside pickup and home deliveries for the elderly and immunocompromised, available by calling 419-678-4249.
• Wayne Street Market, 206 Wayne St., Fort Recovery, is designating 8-10 a.m. Monday-Saturday for senior citizens to shop, according to a store employee. It's also offering curbside pickup by calling 419-375-2865.

MINSTER - When Wagner's IGA owner Wally Wagner started hearing about stores setting hours exclusively for senior citizens and high-risk customers to shop amid the coronavirus pandemic, he thought he could take the practice one step further.
CELINA - Local health officials reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.
Mercer County Health District officials reported the number of confirmed cases remained at 12. The district also reported 18 pending tests, 92 negative tests, two hospitalizations and one death.
Work on historic landark unaffected by pandemic
ST. MARYS - The COVID-19 pandemic has not affected the renovation of the St. Marys Reservoir Mill, as construction crews continue to work in anticipation of possible severe April weather.
