Gay Garman
Gay L. Garman, age 68, of Fort Recovery, died February 28, 2020 at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. She was born July 3, 1951 in Celina, to the late George and Thelma Jean (Schoch) Garman. In 1977, she met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Cron, who survives.
Also surviving are her siblings, Hunter (Lora) Garman of Albany, IN, Dusty Garman of Findlay, OH and Nina (Max) Hamrick of Willshire, OH; numerous nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Barbara (Tom) Bueltel of Englewood, OH and Charles (Nancy) Cron of St. Marys.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Ann Baker, George Garman, Holly Garman and Stormy Garman.
Gay was a 1969 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, attended Ohio University and graduated with an associate's degree from Hocking College, Nelsonville, OH. She retired from Cron Constructing, Fort Recovery.
She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1473, Celina, and was a proud member of the Democratic Party. Her loyalty to the Democratic Party was recognized in 2017 when she was awarded the Mercer County Democrat of the Year.
Gay had such a generous heart and volunteered countless hours for the local and regional Alcoholics Anonymous Agencies. Her generous nature also lead her to council local incarcerated women who struggled with substance abuse. She also loved nature, being outside, and gardening and was a gourmet cook.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, are entrusted with her arrangements. Contributions can be made to Mercer County Drug and Alcohol Abuse Center.
