* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Edmund Giere
Edmund Giere, age 87, of Maria Stein passed away at 8:15 AM on November 3, 2019 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
He was born on November 27, 1931 in Maria Stein, Ohio to the late Joseph & Veronica (Brockman) Giere. He married Jeanette Raterman on January 5, 1952 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2018.
He is survived by children: Ed Jr. & Deb Giere, Jacksboro, TN, Joe Giere & Linda Schmitmeyer, Maria Stein, Tom & Angie Giere, Vandalia, Gary & Connie Giere, Versailles and Jennie & Steve Wuebker, Maria Stein, daughter-in-law Vicki Giere, Celina, 19 Grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 on the way & 2 great great grandchildren and 1 sister-in-law Sharon Giere, Haines City, FL.
He was preceded in death by sons: Larry and Steven, daughter Sheryl Giere, daughter-in-law Marge Giere, 1 grandchild Samuel Wuebker, brothers & sisters: Cordula & Alphonse Post, Loretta & William Schwartz, Julianna & Clem Gehert, Regina & Ward Brush, Otto Giere, Aloys (Ally) & Verdella Giere, Alvin Giere, in-laws: Ruth & Richard Dressman, Alvin & Dorothy Raterman, Ralph & Louise Raterman, Maria & Ivo Meinerding, Mary & Rog Wyen, George & Marie Raterman, Dorothy & Robert Berning and Edna Raterman.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Men's Sodality of the church. Ed was a member of the Knights of St. John and Minster Farmers Co-op. He worked at the Minster Box Factory and was a lifelong farmer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, Novermber 7, 2019 at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein, Ohio with Rev. Gene Schnipke celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 6, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 7.
Memorial donations may be made to the State of the Heart Hospice.   Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
