Barn fire

Firefighters respond to a barn fire at 00200 Hesse Road in east of Mendon on Tuesday evening. About 30 firefighters from the Mendon, Spencerville, Rockford and Celina fire departments responded. The blaze was reported by a passerby, Mendon Fire Chief Darrell Etgen said. The owners were not at home, and the barn was a total loss, he added. No further information was available at press time.
