Women indicted in death of baby

CELINA - Two women have been indicted for reckless homicide and child endangering in connection with the death of an infant on June 3 in St. Henry.
Jennifer L. Fusselman, 45, of Portland, Indiana, and Tianna M. Thobe, 27, of St. Henry each face one count of reckless homicide and one count of endangering children, both third-degree felonies, along with a first-degree misdemeanor charge of endangering children, according to Mercer County Common Pleas Court documents.
Fusselman and Thobe are expected to make their initial appearances in common pleas court at 9 a.m. July 31.
St. Henry Police Department reportedly had received a call at 1:58 p.m. June 3 about an infant who was not breathing. After arriving in the 300 block of Kremer-Hoying Road, officers took over performing CPR on the infant, according to a police news release. The infant's baby sitter had begun CPR with help from a 911 dispatcher by the time officers arrived, St. Henry Police Chief Mike Link had said.
St. Henry EMS squad members arrived a short time later and transported the infant to Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater, the release stated.
Days after the incident, police did not suspect abuse was involved, but the case was still being investigated by police officers along with representatives of the Mercer County Department of Job and Family Services and the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, police officer Bob Garman had said.
