Caleb Kunkle
Caleb H. Kunkle, age 20, of Portland, Indiana, passed away on June 19, 2019 at his residence.
He was born November 29, 1998, in Coldwater, to Mike and Kathy (Schoen) Kunkle, who survive in Portland.
Also surviving are his two brothers, Cameron Kunkle of Portland and Connor Kunkle at home; grandparents, Lone Kunkle of Portland and Harry & Barb Schoen of Fort Recovery and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death is a grandfather, Larry Kunkle.
Almost three years ago while Caleb was driving to Jay County High School, on the first day of his senior year, he was in a single vehicle accident. Never letting his debilitating injuries discourage him from accomplishing his goals or passions in life, Caleb graduated from high school and with a few modifications, he continued being active on the family farm. He drove the farm tractors, the combine and continued with the farming chores. He had a passion for sky diving and motocross racing.
During his school years he actively participated in sports, excelling in football and baseball. Caleb was employed at the Center for Neurological Development, Burkettsville, where he enjoyed supporting and helping others, as well as the camaraderie of everyone there.
He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, June 24, 2019, with Fr. Ned Brown as celebrant. Burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery, Salamonia, IN.
Calling is 1:00 pm-5:00 pm Sunday and 9:00 am-10:00 am Monday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
