Celina man, 18, is sentenced to almost four years prison

CELINA - A Celina man has been sentenced to 46 months in jail after pleading guilty to third-degree felony charges of possession of LSD and marijuana and a fifth-degree felony charge of aggravated possession of drugs.
Isaiah W. Schnell, 18, was found inside a home at 518 Hierholzer St. with another male and several illegal substances, according to a court document. Grand Lake Task Force officers reportedly saw marijuana and scales used to measure drugs.
After obtaining a search warrant, officers reportedly found a backpack, which officers say Schnell told them was his. Inside the backpack was marijuana, 82 "hits" of LSD and 2.77 grams of methamphetamine.
The maximum prison terms for the possession charges was 36 months with potential maximum fines of $10,000, and the maximum prison term for aggravated possession of drugs was 12 months with a maximum fine of $2,500.
Two other charges against Schnell, including engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and trafficking, were dropped as part of a plea deal. Schnell was reportedly also in possession of $8,545 in drug proceeds, which was signed over to the state as part of the plea deal.
Mercer County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey Ingraham said Schnell could take part in a risk-reduction program, which would give him a chance to reduce his jail term and address any issues with which he may be dealing that had led him to drugs. Additionally, the mandatory fines, which would total $10,000, would be waived upon the filing of an affidavit stating Schnell's inability to pay, Ingraham said.
