* WHERE...St. Marys River at Rockford.
* WHEN...Until this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:40 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall slowly this afternoon, falling below flood stage later this evening. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Mark 'Sam' Hicks
Mark Eugene "Sam" Hicks, age 70, of Mendon, passed away at 9:15 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater. He was born November 13, 1948, in Martin, KY, to the late Charles Edward & Naomi (Osborne) Hicks. Eugene was a lifelong resident of Mendon and a 1967 graduate of Mendon-Union High School. On September 1, 1967 he married Brenda Snider who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and a daughter: Todd (Kelli) Hicks of Delaware, Tonya (Galen) Hesse of Mendon, and Travis (Jennifer) Hicks of Delaware, and six grandchildren: Hannah Hicks, Rachel (Spencer) Heinl, Taylor Hesse, Ryan Hesse, Ethan Hicks and Emma Hicks.
Also surviving are four sisters: Wanda Mahaffey of Arkansas, Pauline Miller, Bonita (Eric) Welker and June (Denny) Dorsten, all of Mendon.
He was proceeded in death by two brothers: Donnie Hicks and Vernon Hicks; four sisters, Mary Agnes Hicks, Dolores Derossett, Joy Brodnicki and Phyllis Lauth.
He worked at Goodyear in St. Marys for many years up until his retirement. He was a member of the Churches of God, served on the Mendon-Union School Board, and had been a volunteer with the Mendon-Union Fire Department for 10 plus years.
His favorite pastimes were fishing and spending time with friends, family and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed following the Parkway track, football, and basketball teams.
A private service was held at the convenience of the family, with Rev. Richard Van Horn officiating. Burial took place at the Mendon Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, June 9, 2019 at the Mt. Tabor Church of God, 9744 US 127, Celina, Ohio 45822, with Rev. Richard Van Horn officiating. All Friends and Family are welcome.
The family will receive friends and family not staying for the service one-half hour prior to the service.
