* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Bernice Kaup
Bernice M. "Bernie" Kaup, age 92, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on April 11, 2019 at The Gardens at St. Henry.
She was born October 29, 1926, in St. Henry, to the late Aloysius and Elizabeth (Guggenbiller) Backs. On September 1, 1948, she married the late Adrian "Doc" Kaup, who died September 24, 2016.
Surviving are her five children, Jean (Mike) Hupka of Boulder, CO, Joan Kaup and Rick Pender of Cincinnati, Jerry (Lorri) Kaup, Tom (Tess) Kaup and Dave (Lucy) Kaup, all of Fort Recovery; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; her siblings, Alice Fiely of Marion, IN, Maurice (Sandy) Backs of St. Joe, Paul (Ruth) Backs of St. Joe, Richard Backs of Marion, IN and Robert (Jeannie) Backs of Marion, IN; sister-in-law, Frieda Backs of St. Marys; in-laws, Irene Hein of St. Peter, Dale (Donna) Kaup of St. Anthony and Floyd (Joyce) Kaup of Celina.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Harold and Gertrude Backs, Art and Ruth Backs, Donald Backs; brother-in-law, John Fiely; sister-in-law, Lois Backs; and in-laws, Alvin and Alma Kaup, Mark Hein and Virginia Kaup.
Bernie was a life long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joe, OH. She was a vibrant and generous friend and neighbor, she shared flowers and produce from the garden, as well as her sewing and embroidery talents. She engaged her aptitude for organization and entrepreneurship with the Ladies Sodality of St. Joseph Church, the C.K. of A. of St. Joe and with her children. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She instilled in her children and grandchildren a sense of respect, pride and caretaking.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Fr. Ned Brown as celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 3:00 pm-8:00 pm Monday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Tuesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
