* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Edward Nighswander
Edward L. Nighswander, 90, of Mendon, died at 8:00 a.m. February 24, 2019, at the C.H.P. Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert, Ohio.
He was born December 1, 1928, in Continental, Ohio, to the late Paul and Clara (Beckman) Nighswander. On August 13, 1955, he married Patricia M. (Brooks) Nighswander, and she preceded him in death on June 21, 2014.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel (Lynne) Nighswander, Celina, and Michael Nighswander, Mendon; a daughter, Rebecca (Gabriel) Richardson, Swanton; and a granddaughter, Emily Nighswander; four brothers, Albert (Bernita) Nighswander, Leipsic, Ohio, Robert Nighswander, Antwerp, Ohio, Donald Nighswander, Brockway, Pennsylvania, and Larry Nighswander, Van Wert, Ohio; and two sisters, Margie Kemp, Delphos, Ohio, and Donna Ball, Spencerville, Ohio.
Also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Wiesehan.
Ed proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War era. He retired from Mersman Furniture in Celina after 35 plus years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family and wood working. One of his fondest memories was a recent trip on the Honor Flight to Washington, DC with his four brothers.
Private family services will be held. No calling hours are scheduled. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cisco Funeral Home, Celina & St. Marys.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to C.H.P. Home Care & Hospice.
