ST. HENRY - Village council members on Monday accepted police chief Bob Garman's retirement after 24 years of service and gave first reading of an ordinance giving employees an average 3 percent pay raise.
Garman's resignation is effective Dec. 31. At 54 years old, he said it's time to retire, although he hopes to be rehired as a patrolman. [More]

St. Marys senior Sean Perry was named the Division IV State Defensive Player of the Year by the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association on Monday night.

Parkway opened its girls basketball season with a 54-30 win at Mississinawa Valley on Monday night.
The Panthers led 24-10 at halftime and never looked back, opening up a 43-15 advantage by the end of the third quarter.
