Daniel Thobe
Daniel W. Thobe, age 46, of Maria Stein, died Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 24, 1972 in Celina, to the late David (Dutch) Thobe & Jean (Gels) Thobe who survives in Maria Stein. On July 18, 1998, he married Erica (Albers) and they have three children, Aubrey age 17, Kinsey age 15 and Gavin age 12.
He is also survived by his siblings, Jennifer & Craig Hess of Troy, Holly & Shawn Crichley of Dublin, Mark & Krista Thobe of Kettering, Brad & Kelly Thobe of Dayton, and Todd & Heather Thobe of Columbus; His parents-in-law Jim & Pat Albers of Minster, and in laws Byron & Darcee Albers of Minster and Sondra & Kerry Stein of Sylvania.
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein, where he was a past parish councilman. Dan was very humble and always put others before himself. He was a math teacher at Vandalia Butler, Ft. Loramie and Marion Local High Schools where he coached football and track. Dan's positive energy inspired and motivated students, athletes and colleagues. He made them believe in themselves. Above all, his love for his wife and children always came first.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 6, and from 9 to 9:45 AM on Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Memorials may be made to his children's education fund. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
