Woman arrested in St. Marys man's death
Resident found inside his home stabbed in chest

Officials were called to 204 Williams St. in St. Marys Wednesday evening after occupant Joe Hunter had been stabbed in the chest.
ST. MARYS - Police have arrested a Dublin woman in connection with the death of a St. Marys man.
St. Marys police and the St. Marys Rescue Squad responded to 204 Williams St. in St. Marys, at about 8:16 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release. Officers reportedly found the victim, identified as Joe Hunter, 56, St. Marys, with a stab wound to his chest.
Hunter was transported to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys where he later died from his injury, the release stated.
Karen D. Fontenot, 54, Dublin, was later arrested and booked into the Auglaize County jail on one count of murder, according to the release.
The initial call reported a male having seizures, police chief Jacob Sutton told the newspaper. When EMS personnel arrived at the scene, they found Hunter in his residence with a stab wound to his chest and contacted the police, Sutton said.
A recording of the initial 911 call was provided to the newspaper. A person who identified himself as Hunter's neighbor and the owner of the duplex says in the recording that a woman who had been with Hunter had come to him and said Hunter was having a seizure. The caller can be heard asking about Hunter's condition, and an apparent woman's voice tells him Hunter is lying on the floor. The caller then tells the dispatcher that Hunter is bleeding in the chest area.
According to the Auglaize County Municipal CourtView website, Fontenot's bond was set at $500,000 or 10 percent with the conditions that the defendant shall neither consume nor possess alcohol nor other intoxicants, shall not be present on any premises where intoxicants are served or present, shall be subject to testing and that she commit no further offenses or leave the state without written permission.
