He was a member and past president of the Allen County Bar Association and a member of the Ohio Bar Association. Paul served as an attorney for ARC and served as a UAW attorney. He was also an Assistant to the Ohio Attorney General. Paul was in private practice for 30 years in Lima, Ohio, initially with Navarre, Rizor, and DaPore, and later with Rizor, Minnard, and Rizor. Paul was a fly fisherman who particularly enjoyed the Au Sable River near Grayling, Michigan as well as Montana and Alaska. He loved blues music, and was overly brilliant and generous, helping so many people in his practice and personal life. He was a mentor to young people.
