Anita Savage
Anita N. Savage, 64, of St. Marys, OH was called to Heaven at 8:14 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 surrounded by her children and friends, following her courageous three-year battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband of thirty years, Ronald M. Savage, Jr. She was born March 23, 1954 in St. Marys, OH to Harold and Betty (Goodwin) Dunlap, who preceded her on death.
She was a very loving mother to her children and step-children: Amy (Tony) Perry, Harvey Allen (Sondra) Huff, Todd Darell Huff (deceased), Christopher Savage, Heather Savage-Muhry, Lindsey Savage and Joseph Savage; 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother James "Dubber" (Sandy) Dunlap, twin sister Valerie (Dan) Salisbury, sister-in-law Nancy Dunlap. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Also preceded in death by: brother Harold "Pete" Dunlap, Jr.; brother Mike Dunlap; brother Ronald Dunlap; sister Bettina "Jane" Winters; sister Kathy Ward.
Prior to becoming disabled, she had worked for many years at area nursing homes. She loved all her family and friends tremendously and her door was always open to everyone. She had the heart and courage of a giant packed into her tiny, 4' 11" frame. Always respected for her honesty, she wasn't shy about telling people what she thought (whether they liked it or not).
A special thanks goes out to the people who took such good care of Anita during her illness: Amy, Lindsey, Buffie, and especially, Angie, who devoted Many hours and days to her.
The world truly lost an angel that will be forever missed.
Rites are scheduled to begin 2:00 p.m. Monday September 17, 2018 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys, with the Rev. Craig Cisco, officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 2-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
