Michael Godwin
Michael L. Godwin, age 62, of Celina, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the CHP Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
Mike was born December 14, 1955 in Celina. His Mother, Betty Clay Godwin, preceded him in death. His Father and Step-Mother: Dick & Mary Godwin, survive in Mendon.
His loving life partner, Diane Schrader, survives, along with Mike's Children: Anthony (Laura) Godwin of Monroe, IN, Amanda (Carey) Godwin Hart of Celina, Justin Godwin (Brandi Lawson-Younker) of Coldwater, and Corey Godwin (Michelle Barhorst) of Fort Loramie, as well as Diane's Children: Dea Gutierrez Thatcher (Delbert Jewell) and Darren Gutierrez (Vicki Ellerbrock) of Van Wert. Mike was a loving Grandfather to his many Grandchildren, and had countless friends.
A 1974 graduate of Mendon-Union High School, Mike had worked as a Maintenance Press Technician at GKN Sinter Metals in Van Wert. He was a member of American Legion Post #210 and Moose Lodge #1473 in Celina. Mike enjoyed camping, spending time with his family and friends, and traveling the world as a part of his work.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:15 A.M. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Mendon Cemetery, with Cheryl Schaffner officiating. Following the Service at the cemetery, a gathering and dinner for family and friends will be held at the Old Farm Store, located at 122 N. Main St. in Mendon.
Memorial Contributions may be made towards children's playground equipment at Rivertrail Campground II, 7712 Deep Cut Rd., Mendon, where Mike and his family and friends spent many happy times together.
