Gerald Smith
Gerald "Jerry" M. Smith, 85, of Minster, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 7:55 AM at home.
He was born on July 28, 1932 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Howard and Arlene (Howell) Smith. On January 31, 1950 he married Wilma Andrews who preceded him in death January 22, 2015.
Jerry is survived by two daughters, Margery (Ray) Endicott of Ft. Loramie, and Jill (Jeff) Buehler of St. Henry, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren, two siblings, Richard (Inez) Smith of Fletcher, and Judy Baker of Sidney, and in-laws, Robert Schloss, and Imogene Andrews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mike Smith.
Jerry farmed all his life and raised livestock. He was a member of the Mason's, and served as Green Township Trustee for many years. In his younger years he played baseball and raced go-carts. He loved to camp and fish, and bowled until the end.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney, with Rev. Cherryl Styles officiating. Burial will follow at Plattsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM.
