James Steinbrunner
James "Jim" Otto Steinbrunner, 79, of Sidney, passed away at 10:07 PM on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Ohio Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit at Upper Valley Medical Center.
He was born on October 4, 1938 in Burkettsville, Ohio, the son of the late Vincent and Olive (Mueller) Steinbrunner. Jim was first married to Marilyn Wenning on May 11, 1963 and she preceded him in death on January 14, 1997. He then married Eva (Winchester) Moore on May 1, 1999 and she survives in Sidney.
Jim is also survived by 5 children; Gary (Diane) Steinbrunner of St. Marys, OH, David Steinbrunner of Loveland, OH, Dawn (David) Reichert of Rockford, MI, Carol (Patrick) Boyd of Kennesaw, GA and Teresa (Shannon) Michael of Bryant, IN, 2 step-children, Elizabeth Ballard of Terry, MS and Scott Moore of Lake Geneva, WI, 10 grandchildren; Brian, Cory, Drew and Elly Steinbrunner, Cameron and Kelsey Reichert, Adam and Rachel Boyd and Allison and Justin Stetler, 6 step-grandchildren; Christopher and Megan Moore, Hunter Shands and Ashley, Brooke Ballard and Chase Michael, 7 siblings; Walter (Janet) Steinbrunner of Coldwater, Mark Steinbrunner of St. Henry, Melvin (Jan) Steinbrunner of Coldwater, Roman (Diana) Steinbrunner of Minster, Edward Steinbrunner of St. Henry, Ruth Steinbrunner of Celina and Father Jerry Steinbrunner of Cincinnati.
Mr. Steinbrunner was formerly employed at Frost Mechanical Inc. in Wapakoneta and was a feed salesman in the Wapakoneta area for many years. James farmed and raised hogs. Jim was a member of American Legion Post #217 in Sidney. He was a "jack of all trades" and could fix anything.
Jim was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Glynwood, Ohio near St. Marys where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 with Rev. Barry Stechschulte officiating. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in Glynwood.
Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Friday at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County and St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Jim Steinbrunner.
