Waneta Rodeheffer
Waneta Mae Rodeheffer, 99, of Wooster, Ohio, and formerly of St. Marys and Bowling Green, Ohio, died 4:55 P.M. Friday, March 16, 2018, at Lifecare Hospice of Wooster.
She was born April 2, 1918, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Glenn and Nora (Leffel) Hussey. She married Earl H. Rodeheffer on November 16, 1941; he preceded her in death on March 7, 1988.
She is survived by her children: Sujane (Max) Pulley of Wooster; Sidney Rodeheffer of Port Clinton, Ohio. She is survived by her grandchildren: Holly Ingalls; Bradley Ingalls; Amy Guear; John Rodeheffer. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Todd; Madison; Celia; Drake; AJ Floyd. She is survived by her great-great-grandson, Haiden Ingalls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Randall Rodeheffer; by a granddaughter, April Burback.
Waneta was a 1936 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School; She earned her BS and MS from Bowling Green State University. She retired from Bowling Green City Schools, where she had taught social studies and served as a guidance counselor.
She was the first woman elected to the city council of Bowling Green, Ohio, and was included in Who's Who of Poetry. She enjoyed camping, traveling and music, and was a church organist for many years. She was a member of the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club, and had served as District President and Lieutenant Governor for the State of Ohio Kiwanis. She grew up at Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Saint Marys; and was member of Grace Church in Wooster.
Funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, St. Marys, Ohio, the Reverend Joel Bucklin, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Friends may call from noon until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
