Urban Seger
Urban J. Seger, 88 of Minster, passed away at 3:05 pm on Monday, January 29, 2018, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born in Minster, Ohio on August 31, 1929 to the late Edward & Rose (Liening) Seger. On August 22, 1951 he married Mary Lou Enneking at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster and she survives in Minster.
He is also survived by his sons, Virgil & Paula Seger of Oxford, Vernon & Diana Seger of Minster and Urban & Diane Seger of Coldwater; eight grandchildren: Emily & Todd Moubray, Anton, Kerri, Kyle & Erin, Krystal, Kody, Alexandria & Dustin; two great-grandchildren: Nora & Lana; a brother, Richard Seger of Minster; and in laws, Robert & Mary Jo Enneking of Sidney, Dolores & Doug Latham of Piqua, David & Mary Jo Enneking of Troy, Carolyn Enneking of Minster, John Schmiesing of Minster and Lewis Bertke of New Bremen.
He was preceded in death by a brother Leonard Seger and in laws, Rita Bertke, Alice Schmiesing, James Enneking and Joseph & Elma Enneking.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster where he was an usher for 65 years, and Minster K of C. Urban was formerly on the board of directors for Milk Marketing, Inc. was on the Republican Central Committee, New Bremen Senior Citizens, Minster F.O.E., the Auglaize County Farm Bureau and the Farm Bureau Council. He worked his whole life as a farmer and was an avid bowler, fisherman and card player.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine Church, Minster, at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 3, 2018, with Rev. Rick Nieberding, Celebrant.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster on Friday, February 2, from 2 to 8 pm and Saturday from 8:30 to 9:00 am.
Memorials may be made to the Minster Area Life Squad or Maria Stein Relic Chapel.
