Frederick Kugel
Frederick Louis Kugel, age 77 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born on July 8, 1940 in Celina, Ohio to the late Morrel & Wilhelmina (Seeger) Kugel. On December 16, 1961 he married Janet Eely, who survives in Celina.
Also surviving are his three children Chris (Linda) Kugel of Katy, Texas, Dana (Kim) Kugel of Washington, Missouri, Greta (Greg) Dunaway of Pleasant Plain, 16 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his brother Michael (Dianne) Kugel of Dayton, his sister Diana (Mike) Spicer of Celina, sister-in-law Carol Nelson of Eaton and several nieces and nephews.
Frederick was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Jim Nelson.
He graduated from Celina High School in 1958. Frederick retired in 1999 from New Idea in Coldwater and was employed at CAPT in Celina, for five years. Then he enjoyed driving and transporting cars for Rhino's Automotive Sales.
He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church Hopewell Township and a member of the Celina Flying Sportsmen's Club. Frederick's passion was airplanes, he was an avid model airplane enthusiast, in 1982 he built and flew his full scale plane, and competed in the remote controlled Aeronautical World Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada and finished in 6th place. He loved to ride his motorcycle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the St. John Lutheran Church Hopewell Township, with Rev. Karen Tamorria officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Wabash.
Friends may call from 4-8p.m. on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Church.
