* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Man killed clearing trees

CELINA - A Celina man was killed on Saturday morning from injuries suffered after a tree had fallen onto him in the 7000 block of Harris Road.

Nicholas Schroer, 64, reportedly was clearing an area of fallen trees near the area of Old Town and Harris roads. A witness at the scene told Mercer County Sheriff's deputies that Schroer was using a tractor to pull down a tree that had already broken and was leaning. As he pulled, the tree fell and landed on another tree that then fell on the victim, according to the witness report.

The witness called 9-1-1 at 10:19 a.m. and the Celina Fire Department responded with two trucks and an ambulance, according to fire chief Doug Wolters.

Shroer was transported by ambulance to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, where he was declared dead.

His obituary appears in today's newspaper.
