* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Elmer Speck
Elmer W. Speck, age 96, of Coldwater, died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born November 27, 1921 in St. Henry to the late John H. & Elizabeth (Buehler) Speck. On June 7, 1947 he married Margaret (Zumwald) and she died January 26, 2005.
He is survived by two sisters-in-law Edie Speck and Leona Speck; a niece and caregiver Joyce & Hank Schwieterman and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Leona Meyer, Alvira & Pete Kostoff, Esther & Paul Wourms, Sally & Ferd Eifert, Richard Speck, Raymond & Delores Speck, Clarence & Dorothy Speck and John Speck and in-laws, Louis & Eleanora Zumwald, Alvin Zumwald, and Marie & Bernard Luttmer.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater American Legion Post #470, and Coldwater V.F.W. Post #5135. Elmer served in the US Marine Corps during WWII, after the service he worked for many years at Third National Bank in Dayton.
Elmer and Marge moved back to Mercer County in Coldwater to be out of the city. Elmer enjoyed golf, baseball and cards.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call from 1 to 5 PM on Sunday and 9 to 10 AM on Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
