Mary Hess
Mary "Katie" Hess (Tumbusch), age 92, of Coldwater, died on Monday, December 4 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born February 19, 1925 in Cassella, Ohio to the late William & Rose Tumbusch (Schemmel). She married her husband, Victor Hess on August 11, 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2008.
She is survived by her Children, Gary & Sue Hess of Coldwater, June & Bill Brandewie of Versailles, Roger & Kim Hess of Coldwater, and Deb & Dan Faller of Fort Recovery; 10 grandchildren, Nathan Hess, Mindy Little, Kristen Ruffer, Brent Faller, Kara Faller, Jena Hess, Marla Schoenherr, Taylor Hess, Molly Hess and Troy Hess. 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bertha Heitbrink of Maria Stein, Wilfred & Betty Tumbusch of North Star, Betty & Ron Hilgefort of Montezuma; and in-laws, Olive Tumbusch of Mason and Rita Hoying of Coldwater.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Jerome Tumbusch, Ralph & Mary Tumbusch, Rita & Ott Homan, and Eugene Tumbusch; in-laws, Harold Heitbrink, Mary Magdalena Hess, Urban & Adella Hess, Bertha & Ernie Beckstedt, Monica & Gregor Grevenkamp, Jerome & Eleanor Hess, Ben Hoying, Arthur Hess, and Adelheit Hess; and one great-grandchild.
She was a member of Coldwater Holy Trinity Church and St. Ann Rosary Altar Ladies Sodality. She worked for Mercer Health Hospital in Coldwater and she enjoyed cross stitching, shopping, playing cards and baking, especially cookies.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday December 7, 2017 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Burial will follow at the St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Memorials may be made to the State of the Heart Hospice.
