Christopher Kuck
Christopher Lee Kuck, 47, of New Bremen, died on Sunday, September 17, 2017 while riding his bicycle along a beautiful trail. He reached the summit.
He was born on October 1, 1969 in St. Marys. He was the son of Deborah E. Kuck of St. Marys, and the late Lee E. Kuck of New Bremen.
Surviving are his wife Teresa (Nagel) Kuck and daughter Samantha A. Kuck of New Bremen, and sister Angela S. Kuck of Arlington, VA. He is also survived by his in-laws William and Janice Nagel of Maria Stein; Kevin and Brenda, Nathan, Taylor Nagel of Maria Stein; and Ted and Jill, Chloe, Cale Nagel of Maria Stein.
He was preceded in death by his godson, Peter Nagel.
Chris was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, and a 1988 graduate of New Bremen High School. He worked at Precision Strip in Minster as the lead mechanic in the truck shop. He previously worked for years alongside his dad at ConAg/Quality Ready Mix in St. Marys.
Chris loved family, travel, adventure, history, geography, and trucks. While free time was rare, Chris enjoyed biking, hiking, climbing mountains, and running 5K races with his daughter. He always sought adventure, and began his adult life with a 3-month tour of 46 states using a white cargo van as his traveling home.
Thankfully, he met and married Teresa soon after. He loved spending time just talking with family and friends, drinking beer and "solving the world's problems." Above all, Chris adored Teresa and Sammy, around whom he believed the world revolved.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 25, at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen with Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 24 at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen and at 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at St. Paul's Church.
Chris believed in "paying it forward." For that reason, in lieu of flowers and gifts, the family set up a memorial fund to support charities, causes, and people who were near and dear to his heart. Contributions can be made to the Chris L. Kuck Memorial Fund, First National Bank, 35 S. Washington St., New Bremen, OH 45869.
Condolences to the family may be left at gilberghartwigfh.com.
