Barbara Grimm
Barbara Lynne Grimm of Findlay, Ohio passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at The Heritage.
She was born in Findlay on September 16, 1932 to Robert and Lydia (Hamilton) Bowman. She married Donald Grimm on August 30, 1953 at the College First Church of God in Findlay. Don preceded her in death on October 25, 2002.
Barbara is survived by two sons, Allen (Amy) Grimm of Findlay, and Steven (Carol) Grimm of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Patricia Notestine of Manhattan, Kansas; and four grandchildren Darin, Cassie, Carter and Andrew Grimm.
Barbara was a 1949 graduate of Findlay High School. She attended Findlay College, then attained an education degree from Bowling Green State University and her master's degree from Indiana University. She was a teacher, starting in the Celina, Ohio school district, and then for over 20 years with Washington Local Schools in Toledo, before retiring in 1987.
Barbara was a member of the College First Church of God in Findlay, Trilby United Methodist Church in Toledo, and the United Church of Canada in Mindemoya, Ontario. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, especially in the choir at her churches.
Barbara enjoyed her retired life, traveling with her husband, and spending time at their summer cottage at Big Lake in Ontario, Canada, entertaining family and friends. Barbara also enjoyed photography and wildlife, especially the hummingbirds and loons found at Big Lake.
A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the College First Church of God in Findlay.
Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Swamp College cemetery, west of Celina.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the College First Church of God or the Findlay City Mission in Barbara's name.
