Charles F. Ginter, Sr., 77, Saint Marys, died suddenly at 11:14 A.M. Monday, August 21, 2017, at Saint Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

He was born March 14, 1940, in Saint Marys, the son of Joseph and Naomi (Fisher) Ginter. He married Joyce Winters on January 24, 1959, in Muncie, Indiana; she survives at the residence.

He is also survived by his children: Cheryl (Bill) Sutton of Walton, Kentucky; Cleo (Gregg) DuGranrut of Lima; Charles (Christine) Ginter, Jr. of Saint Marys; Lori Burd of Saint Marys; Kelly (Dale) Smalley of Haviland, Ohio. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: George (Carolyn) Ginter of Sidney; Jeanette Mack (and Herb) of Saint Marys; Larry "Chub" (Kathy) Huston of Saint Marys; Jeff (Tammy) Longsworth of Saint Marys; Tony (Sharon) Gross, Sr. of Saint Marys; Darlene Bowman of Springfield, Ohio; Robin Studer of Rockford; Roy Goodwin of Saint Marys; sisters-in-law Paula Longsworth of Ohio City; Janie Ginter of Saint Marys; Hope Ginter of Saint Marys. He is survived by a son-in-law, Gary Swartz of Saint Marys. He is survived by his beloved dog, Cookie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Ginter; by his mother, Naomi Ginter-Huston-Longsworth; by his siblings: Joe, Terry, Roy, Bill, Les, Randy, Jimmy and Mick Ginter; by a sister, Linda Ginter; by a daughter, Becky Swartz; by two granddaughters, Jessica and Cassandra Olsen.

Charlie retired from Saint Marys Chrysler. He loved fishing and working on old cars.

Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 26, 2017, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
