Virginia Bowden
Virginia Alvera Henne Bowden, 81, of Celina, Ohio, passed away at 1:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at the Gardens of Celina.
She was born on August 4, 1935 in Auglaize County to William F. and Thelma (Temple) Henne, who have passed on to be with the Lord. On September 18, 1958 she married Harry Charles Bowden in Nashville Tennessee, he preceded her in death in 1970.
They had one son, Frederick T. Bowden, who survives in Celina. Virginia also has a special cousin, Andrea Bowden, surviving in Baltimore, Maryland.
Virginia graduated from Mount Vernon Academy in 1953. Her parents helped her care for Frederick while she went to work at Reynolds and Reynolds in Celina; where she retired after 27 years of service.
Virginia was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 56 years. She also sang in the choir for many years. She loved being a part of the church women who prepared items to sell at the annual church bazaar and ham dinner. She spent many hours making latch hook hangings. She took an active role in the life of the church and sent many cards to the church members. The church was her extended family.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. in Mt. Union Cemetery, Spencerville, Ohio, with Rev. Nan Clancy Officiating; a funeral procession to the cemetery will leave Cisco Funeral Home at 1:30 P.M.
Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Celina.
