* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Donald Geise Sr.
Donald E. Geise Sr., age 84, Sidney, passed away of natural causes Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Wilson Health Hospital, in Sidney, Ohio.
He was born March 16, 1933, in Anna, Ohio, to the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Siegel) Geise. On September 8, 1956, at St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia, Don married Margaret L. (Dapore) Geise who survives.
Also surviving are children: John & Kathy Geise of Sidney, Michael (dec.) & Jennifer Geise of Fort Loramie, Tom & Lisa Geise of Fort Loramie, Don & Cathy Geise of Fort Loramie, Kevin & Angie Geise of Houston and Peggy & Dave Grewe of Fort Loramie; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three siblings: Anthony & Ann Geise of Fort Loramie, Fred & Charlotte Geise of Union, and Kenneth and Karen Geise of Minster; sisters and brothers in-law: Irene Geise of Somerville, Helen Larger of Wapakoneta, Carl & Mildred Dapore of Versailles and Art & Eileen Dapore of Russia.
He was preceded in death by five siblings: Ray & Dorothy, Ed & Mildred, Leonard & Martha and Victor Geise, Mary & Carl Seger and brothers & sisters in-law: Francis Monnin, Carl Larger, Adrian Dapore and Bob & Pauline Dapore.
Don was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1996 from the Monarch Machine Tool Co. in Sidney where he had been the machine shop supervisor. Years ago Don drove truck for Ernst Gravel in Houston and had been engaged in farming all of his working life.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Sidney VFW, the Monarch Retiree's club and life member of the Fort Loramie American Legion and McCartyville Knights of Columbus.
Don was affectionately known as "Big D" and the Mayor of Uno. He was a dedicated care-giver; he always put his family first and especially enjoyed following his grandchildren's school and fair activities.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Monday, July 3, 2017, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion.
Friends may call Sunday 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
Memorials may be made to the Fort Loramie Rescue Squad or charity of choice.
