Mary Suchland
Mary Frances Suchland, 96, St. Marys, OH died 4:49 a.m. Sunday May 28, 2017 at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born March 31, 1921 in Darke Co., OH to Frank and Mary Ellen (Martino) Gasson. On March 18, 1941, she married Robert Suchland, who died May 15, 1959.
She is survived by: son Robert (Linda) Suchland of St. Marys, OH, son Ronald (Sandra) Suchland of St. Marys, OH, 6 grandchildren: Jason (Rosie Gilbert) Suchland, Aaron (Lisa) Suchland, Matt Suchland, Nathan (Amanda) Suchland, Chris (Chad) Fortkamp, Jeff (Taira) Suchland, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, sister-in-law Janet Suchland of Dayton, OH, special nephew Bill (Mooneen) Wurster of St. Marys, OH
Preceded in death by: parents Frank and Mary Ellen Gasson; husband Robert Suchland; brother Clarence Gasson; brother Chelcie Gasson; brother George Gasson; brother Orville Gasson; brother Vernon Gasson; brother Leonard Gasson; brother Norbert Gasson; sister Marguerite "Rita" Wurster; sister Catherine Armstrong; sister-in-law Vonnalee (Kenneth) Howick; sister Mary Jo (Phil) Pfenning; sister-in-law Evelyn (Jesse) James; brother-in-law William Suchland.
She was a retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys, where she worked as a timekeeper for many years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, VFW Post #9289 auxiliary and Eagles Lodge Aerie #767 auxiliary. Her favorite pastimes included reading, shopping and dining out. Above all, she enjoyed being involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rites are set to begin 11:00 a.m. Monday June 5, 2017 at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home (314 W. High Street Chapel) in St. Marys. The Rev. Bill Maki will officiate the services. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery, in St. Marys.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the services on Monday at the funeral home on High Street. Memorial contributions may be directed to either Zion Lutheran Church or Grand Lake Hospice.
