* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Dorothy Leiss
Dorothy A. Leiss, age 89, of New Bremen, died on May 4, 2017, at 10:57 P.M. at the St. Marys Living Center, St. Marys, Ohio.
She was born on July 3, 1927, in Minster, to the late Lewis C. and Mary L. (Ronan) Ahrns. On September 23, 1952, she married Norman F. "Jim" Leiss, and he died on September 27, 1999.
Surviving are her daughters Deborah (Wayne) Pittman of Grover, NC, Vickie Leiss of Sidney, Cynthia Leiss of Celina, and Keila Leiss of New Bremen. Also surviving are five grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband and her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by two grandchildren, and her siblings Lois Wagner, Virginia McConnell, Bud Ahrns, William Ahrns, David Ahrns, and Tommy Ahrns.
Dorothy was a faithful and active member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer of New Bremen for many years. She was involved with Radio Maria, she was a Eucharistic minister to the area hospitals for many years, and was deeply devoted to the Adoration.
Dorothy liked to help people. She loved to interact with small children and enjoyed animals of all kinds. She enjoyed taking trips to the Our Lady of Consolation Basilica in Carey, Ohio, and enjoyed sightseeing in the countryside.
For 22 years, she worked at the Copland Corp. of Sidney, where she had been a spot welder for many years prior to her retirement in 1989.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Tim Ralston and Rev. Mr. Greg Bornhorst officiating. Interment will follow in the Pearl Cemetery near Sidney.
Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and on Wednesday from 9:00 until 9:30 A.M. at the church, at which time the rosary will be prayed.
Memorial contributions in memory of Dorothy can be made to the Cancer Association of Auglaize County.
