Casper Hoelscher
Casper V. Hoelscher, 95, of New Knoxville, died suddenly at 8:15 A.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2017, in the Emergency Department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, Saint Marys.
He was born December 7, 1921, in Washington Twp., Auglaize County, Ohio, the son of Benjamin and Magdalena (Lutterbeck) Hoelscher. He married Rachel Berlet on December 7, 1948, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moulton, and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2013.
He is survived by his four children: Carol Herbst of New Knoxville; Jennie (Daniel) Rohrer of Enon, Ohio; Anita (Terry) Lukac of New Knoxville; Ted (Robbie) Hoelscher of New Knoxville. He is survived by his seven grandchildren: Amy (Byron) Hubbard; Karen Ruley; Tim (Julie) Herbst; Jessica Hoelscher; Max Hoelscher; Dakota Koening; Dylan Koenig. He is survived by one great-grandchild, Landon Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two brothers: Walter Hoelscher and Vernon Hoelscher.
Casper was a 1939 graduate of New Knoxville High School. He was a retired dairy and chicken farmer, and a member of the Farm Bureau. He was a member of the New Knoxville Historical Society, and the First Church of New Knoxville, where he had previously served as a Deacon.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 6, 2017, at the First Church of New Knoxville, the Reverend Joel Bucklin, officiant. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Sunday in the Heritage Room of the First Church of New Knoxville, where memorial gifts may be given to the New Knoxville Historical Society.
