Marjorie Hausfeld
Marjorie R. Hausfeld of Maria Stein, Ohio died on February 17 2017 at The Gardens of St. Henry, gracefully bringing to a close 90 years of love, laughter, and lively stories.
She was born on September 19, 1926 in Coldwater to the late Joe & Francis (Stelzer) Wuebker. She married her lifelong camping partner Ivo "Mousie" Hausfeld on April 19, 1949 in Minster, Ohio, who preceded her in death on February 28, 2007.
Margie and Mousie raised their five children to respect others, find the good in people, and never trump their partner's tricks. Margie loved socializing with her family and close-knit circle of friends. There wasn't a crowd around a kitchen table or fire ring anywhere who could resist her quick wit and sense of humor. She delighted in the cameo appearances she made as "Marge the Mother in Law" in a series of radio commercials for Moeller Door and Window.
Margie is survived by children: Sue & Pat Moeller of Cassella, Peg & Ron Reinhart, Martinsville, IN, Steve Hausfeld, Maria Stein, Larry & Diana Hausfeld, Coldwater, and Jim & Lisa Hausfeld, Vandalia. (Ultimately, the lifelong battle between Pat and Ron to become her favorite son-in-law ended in a tie.) Margie was fiercely proud of her 16 grandchildren & 31 Great Grandchildren and loved her brothers & sisters: Betty & Charlie Gaerke, Ft. Recovery, & Harold Wuebker, Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
She was preceded in death by her other dear brothers & sisters, Dorothy & George Kerber, Will & Betty Wuebker, Janis Wuebker, Joan & John Fischer, and Joan's first husband Sylvester "Caeser" Knapschaefer.
Margie was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, and also one of the longest running and loudest women's card clubs in Maria Stein history.
Her family is sincerely grateful for her family, friends, and the caring staff at The Gardens of St. Henry who added color to her life, even as Alzheimer's disease dimmed her bright light.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Maria Stein.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 21, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 22.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations be made to the Center for Neurological Development, 78 Main St., Burkettsville, OH 45310.
