Douglas William Bomholt, age 54, of Celina, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at his residence. Death was due to natural causes. Doug was affectionately known as "Boomer" and "Uncle Buck" to his friends and family.
He was born May 23, 1962 in Celina, to Ralph & Mildred (Wendel) Bomholt, who both preceded him in death.
He is survived by four Brothers & Sisters: Frank (Sarah) Bomholt of Oxford, OH, Susan (Ralph) Weitzel of Celina, Peggy (Doug) Hennessey of Hamilton, MI and Robert (Michelle) Bomholt of Franklin, TN. Doug enjoyed spending time with his family, including his eleven Nieces & Nephews: Andrew & Michael Bomholt, Elizabeth Walker, Ryan, Kevin & Keith Weitzel, Megan Hennessey, Caitlin Livengood, Heather Rock, Rachel Oates and Ross Bomholt, and five Great-Nieces & Nephews: Lydia & Liam Walker, Tony Rock, and Olivia & Annie Oates.
A 1980 graduate of Celina High School, Doug had been the fourth generation owner of Frank Bomholt & Sons, Inc. Implement Dealer
in St. Rose. He later worked at Denny's Door Sales in Celina, and as an agent for New York Life Insurance.
Doug was a member of VFW Post #5713 and Eagles Aerie #1291, and a former member and President of Moose Lodge #1473 in Celina. He coached Little League Football for 25 years.
Doug loved the lake, and was an avid boater, and enjoyed kayaking. He loved his friends at Westlake Village Condos and spending time by the pool. Doug traveled extensively, and had the ability to go anywhere and make friends instantly. He never knew a stranger. Doug will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
