Betty McKirnan
Betty J. McKirnan age 96, of Celina, Ohio passed away on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 at the Miller Place in Celina.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1921 in Montezuma, Ohio to the late Dick & Bertha (Wills) Grunden. On June 27, 1942, she married Robert J. McKirnan, who died in 1992.
Survivors include her two children Sharon Griggs and Robert (Marie) McKirnan both of Celina. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Clayton (Michelle) Duffy, Shawn Duffy, Hale (Lori) McKirnan, Alex (Ali) McKirnan, Scott McKirnan, Jay McKirnan, Courtney (Logan) Rolfes and seven great grandchildren Cole Duffy, Kyle Duffy, Lexi Duffy, Micah McKirnan, Reid McKirnan, Remy McKirnan, Clara McKirnan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her sons-in-law Julian Duffy and James Griggs.
Betty was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, where she was active in the Altar Rosary Society and a former member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the Phi Beta Psi, Iota Gamma Chapter.
Betty loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing golf and cards at Bridge Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. On Thursday February 9, 2017 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Alt. C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday February 8, 2017 at the Lehman-Dzendzel and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
