* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Betty Opperman
Betty L. Opperman, 95, of New Knoxville, Ohio, died January 28, 2017, at the Saint Marys Living Center.
She was born October 6, 1921, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Clem and Julia (Butterfield) Fogt. She married Eugene Opperman on October 24, 1942, and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2010.
She is survived by her two children: Gene (Ruth) Opperman of New Knoxville; Florence (Don) Schroer of New Knoxville. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren: Mark (Edie) Opperman; Michelle Niemeyer; David (Teresa) Schroer; Julie (Robert) Smith. Also surviving are her 9 great-grandchildren: Kyle Opperman; Kimberly Opperman; Anthony Opperman; Andrew Opperman; Alycia (Jon) Raterman; Taylor (Trent) Mullins; Nathan Schroer; Jason Schroer; Katelynn (Evan) McDougall. She is survived by her siblings: Elsie Ahlers of New Bremen; Marion Dittberner of Northglenn, Colorado; Robert Fogt of Botkins; Marvin Fogt of Melbane, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and by her three brothers: Orin Fogt; George Fogt and Glen Fogt.
Betty was a 1941 graduate of Anna High School. She retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys. She was a member of the New Knoxville United Methodist Church. She loved fishing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the New Knoxville United Methodist Church, the Reverend Dennis Gaertner, officiant. Burial will follow at Evangelical Protestant Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Friday at the church, where memorial gifts may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
