Coldwater maintains first place in bowling

St. Marys and Coldwater's girls' bowling teams remained on top of their respective divisions after Saturday's West Ohio High School Bowling Conference action.
The Roughriders moved to 6-0 in the North Division with a win over rival Celina by 141 pins. Coldwater is 5-0 in the South Division with a big win over Russia.
High game honors for the ladies went to Wapakoneta's Britni Hosterman with a 243. Shawnee's Dayle Aldrich bowled a 220.
In the boys' competition, Coldwater moved to 7-0 in the South Division with a win over Fort Recovery. Wapakoneta (7-0) and Shawnee (6-0) are the lone divisional unbeatens in the North Division with Wapak beating LCC and Shawnee beating Parkway.
St. Marys' Austin Cook had the top game of the day with a 269. Versailles' Jacob Wenig rolled a 266.

Area barn damaged by fire
CELINA - A Sunday evening pole-barn fire at 3879 Mud Pike caused an estimated $40,000 in damages.
The Celina Fire department responded to the call at 6:10 p.m. and spent 20 minutes dousing the flames, Celina Fire Chief Doug Wolters said. No animals or people were injured, he noted.
