Fire damages barn

Firefighters fill a container with water in the 3100 block of Erastus-Durbin Road, Fort Recovery, on Saturday. Southwester Mercer Fire District Chief Kim Day this morning said a hay barn caught fire at about 11:50 a.m. The barn was considered a total loss and farm equipment also was damaged, he said. No one was injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Firefighters were on scene for about seven hours and crews from St. Henry and Coldwater assisted.
