Second man sentenced for role in local burglary

CELINA - A Dayton man was sentenced in Mercer County Common Pleas court Thursday for the charges stemming from the 2015 burglary of TJ's Grocerette in Rockford and a string of other burglaries around the state.

Judge Jeffrey Ingraham sentenced Danny Longstreath, 65, to up to three years of community control sanctions. His nephew, Kenneth Longstreath on Wednesday received a similar verdict for his role in the same crimes.

Danny Longstreath also must pay about $8,700 in restitution to Murphy U.S.A., Chillicothe, and counsel fees; must not consume alcohol or drugs; and must observe a daily curfew from 9 p.m.-6 a.m.

He had faced 20 charges in connection to burglaries from March 18, 2015, to May 17, 2015, but had them reduced in a Nov. 16 plea deal to five fifth-degree felony counts of breaking and entering.

Kenneth Longstreath's sentence also included three years of community control, restitution and costs owed and other stipulations.
