David Liette
David Liette, 64, of St. Marys, died 7:23 p.m. Sunday December 11, 2016 in the emergency department of JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born December 17, 1951 in Mercer Co., OH to Norbert and Marcella (Borgert) Liette. On July 10, 1971 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys, he married Nancy J. Liming, who survives.
Also survived by: son Todd (Shelly) Liette of St. Marys, OH; son Greg (Mandy) Liette of St. Marys, OH; son Ted Liette of St. Marys, OH; daughter Jill (Josh) McCullough of St. Marys, OH; 8 grandchildren: Nathan McCullough, Keegan Liette, Carter Liette, Sasha Liette, Shalynn Liette, Cayden McCullough, Colton McCullough, Caitlin Liette; brother-in-law Gary (JoAnn) Liming of St. Marys, OH; brother-in-law Joey Liming of St. Marys, OH; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents Norbert and Marcella Liette; brother Roger Liette; brother Gary Liette; parents-in-law Ervin and Mary Jane Liming; brothers-in-law James and S. Andrew Liming.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1970) and attended Waldorf College in Forest City, IA. He was a life-long dairy farmer.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. His favorite pastimes included trapshooting, golfing, gambling, playing softball, listening to Reba McEntire and spending time with his close friends.
Dave will be remembered first, and foremost, as a devoted family man who took great pride in his wife, children and grandchildren. Secondly, for his interest and dedication to his herd of Holstein dairy cattle.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 17, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 51 E. Spring Street in St. Marys, with the Rev Barry Stechschulte, celebrant. Burial will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
