Viola Westgerdes
Viola R. "Vi" Westgerdes, 80, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died December 4, 2016 at Ohio State University Wexner Center, Columbus, OH.
She was born July 1, 1936, in Celina, OH, to the late Raymond and Josphine (Heyne) Dues. On July 20, 1957, she married Arnold Westgerdes, who survives.
Also surviving are her children, Gene (Jane) Westgerdes of Fort Recovery, Chuck (Lisa) West-gerdes of Fort Recovery, Bob (Lisa) Westgerdes of St. Joe, OH, Doug (Pam) Westgerdes of St. Joe, Joe Westgerdes and fiancée Tracy Hein-Evers of Fort Recovery and Mike (Mary) Westgerdes of North Star, OH; siblings, Alice (Roger) Klosterman of The Villages, FL, Bob (Joan) Dues of Houston, OH, Don (Linda) Dues of Coldwater, OH, Mary Jane Severt of Traverse City, MI and Pat (Greg) Myers of Adrian, MI; 20 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Janet Dues of Portland, IN and in-laws, Ruth Westgerdes of Fort Recovery, Don & Dorothy Muhlenkamp of Fort Recovery, Sally Muhlenkamp of Coldwater and Naomi Maynard of Sandwich, MA.
Preceding her in death are her daughter-in-law, Tracy West-gerdes, a sister, Virginia (Alfred) Knapke and a brother, Jim Dues.
She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery and its Altar Sodality. Viola enjoyed cross stitch and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 am-10:00 am Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
